Jan Marcellis Picard

Jan Marcellis Picard is a financial strategist with over 25 year of experience in the financial services industry. Her focus is on creating wealth for her clients by recapturing money that is being transferred away unknowingly and unnecessarily.

Jan is an excellent listener and has the creative ability to see things in the "big picture." Once she sees that snapshot in time she is able to zero in on losing strategies that are costing her clients hundreds of thousands of dollars over their lifetimes. Jan's strength is her ability to see where the problems exist and to strategize on how to recapture those dollars and put them back in her client's pockets. Whether you are an individual, family or business owner, you can benefit from the knowledge Jan has acquired over the years.

Jan spent many years as an advisor in both the insurance and securities arenas. She worked for two major insurance companies and spent more than a decade as a Financial Consultant for several banks including Associated Bank and Chase Bank. In 1996, Jan left corporate America to open her own company which for years was known as Marcellis Financial Management. She has first hand experience on how money works and eagerly shares that knowledge with her clients. By offering clients consistency, integrity and genuine concern, she has earned a reputation as a trustworthy advisor and friend. Jan resides with her husband Rick in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Because she grew up working in her parent's grocery store and has had her own company for over a decade, she has a seasoned understanding of the needs of small business owners. She is committed to providing solid counsel in the creation of wealth for clients in professional fields as well as in all walks of life.

Community Involvement

Jan is a member of Business Networking International, Tempo International and The Executive Committee of CEO's (TEC). She is a graduate of Landmark Education and The Circle of Wealth. Jan is a member of Community Church in Oshkosh.

Professional Designations

Jan is licensed as a Registered Representative with the NASD. She is licensed to sell stocks, bonds, mutual funds and variable annuities as well as a number of tax credit programs. Jan is also licensed to sell life and health insurance products including fixed annuities.

She is a licensed Money Trax Advisor and Financial Architects is also the only Educational Center for Wealth and Wisdom Inc in the state of Wisconsin. In addition, Jan enjoys presenting seminars and workshops on a variety of financial subjects throughout the area.

Rick Picard

Rick joined the staff of Financial Architects in the spring of 2007. Rick is a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters in Business who has had over 25 years of experience in both the manufacturing and engineering industries. Not only has he been involved in the day to day operations of small to medium size companies, but he knows and understands well the pressures of business ownership.

In addition, Rick's natural leadership and entrepreneurial skills have helped him during his thirty years of owning and managing rental properties. He understands how the ownership of real estate can assist people in maximizing their wealth potential.

Rick's engaging personality and problem solving skills help people at all levels to improve their overall financial picture. He takes a 100% business approach to financial solutions based on sound economic principles.

Rick is new to the Oshkosh community. He is originally from Milwaukee but resided in Sussex, Wisconsin for the majority of his life. He has two grown daughters living in the Milwaukee area.

Rick is a former Marine (once a Marine always a Marine) who is active with the Disabled American Veterans. He is an avid Harley rider and likes to think he is a pretty good golfer, but that remains to be seen.

Deb Schmidt

Deb Schmidt is the most recent additional to Financial Architects, LLC. As our Office Manager, Deb’s focus is on streamlining our procedures and incorporating improvements to make us as efficient as possible in our service to our clients.

Deb has over ten years in the financial planning industry, most recently serving as Client Services Manager for another local financial firm. Deb’s passion is interacting with clients and making sure they are well taken care of.

Deb has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Marian College in Fond du Lac, and will be pursuing her insurance and securities licensing.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, Deb and her husband Wayne moved to Oshkosh in 1984. She swears she’ll never go back to the “big city”. They have a dog, Summer, who they say demands as much of their time (if not more) than children!

Deb is an active volunteer for the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, and also enjoys golfing, travel, biking, reading, and an occasional casino visit.
